How to unjam a garburator
Before you attempt to work on a garburator, always make sure the power is off to the unit. Unplug it, or disconnect the breaker if it is wired in. Also, never stick your hand into the griding chamber.
Make sure the unit is plugged in (this may sound obvious but many service calls are due to this).
Reset button is located on the bottom of the unit. If the unit was reset, the button will be popped out. Push it in and the system will likely function again.
A $89 evaluation fee applies to garburator repairs.
In most cases we will recommend a new garburator if your current garburator requires a new part. This is because it is usually not much more expensive to install a new garburator than it will be to locate and install a new part for an older garburator.
See our online specials on new garburators (installed from $249).
