Until Dec. 31st, 2023 FortisBC is offering rebates of up to $1500 when you replace your old boiler with a new high efficiency boiler. After Dec. 31 rebates on gas boilers will end in favor of rebates on electric heat pumps.
The rebates are:
$1000 for a 94% (or higher) efficiency boiler
$1500 for an Energy Star combination boiler
A combination boiler is a system that provides hot water for both space heating and tap water- replacing both your existing boiler and hot water tank.
The $1500 rebate for the combination boiler includes a $1200 rebate for the boiler and a $300 two-upgrade bonus, since the boiler counts as both a new space heating and water heating system. However, each home can only receive a single two-upgrade bonus.
Your current boiler must be over 10 years old and not require repairs over $1000.

Boiler rebate for low-income households
Low income households can receive a $2000 rebate on a 94% efficient boiler with a maximum heating capacity of 80,000 BTUs.
The rebate is the for both combination and non-combination systems.
Low income is defined as having an income of less than $35,800 for a 1 person household, $44,500 for 2 people, $54,700 for 3 people, $66,500 for 4 people, $75,400 for 5 people, $85,000 for 6 people, and $94,700 for 7+ people.
